of clean air systems for the microelectronics, medical device, semiconductor,
disk drive, laboratory and pharmaceutical markets, and many other industries
requiring ultra-clean environments for critical technologies.
Known for product innovation and high quality, Envirco designed and manufactured the first commercial cleanroom, the first laminar flow surgical suite, the first personnel safety exhaust hood, and the first low profile Fan Filter Unit (FFU).
Today, one of our most popular units is the MAC 10® FFU. Used worldwide for most critical cleanroom applications, all MAC 10 units feature low sound levels, uniform airflow and low profiles. Additionally, Envirco's Hospi-Gard™ and Enviramedic® lines are specially designed for hospital and medical use. The Hospi-Gard line offers a variety of air filtration units for patient rooms and clinics, and the Enviramedic Surgical Suites offer both horizontal and vertical laminar flow air systems for hospital operating rooms.

Manufacturing Processes
Envirco's production processes are vertically integrated and are backed by well-trained and experienced employees. Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, Envirco's 63,000 square foot manufacturing facility uses the latest in cleanroom technologies. Our MAC 10 FFU product line, and our High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) and Ultra Low Penetration Air (ULPA) filters are manufactured under ISO Class 7 (Federal Standard SI Class M 5.5/USA Class 10,000) cleanroom conditions, making our products the cleanest in the industry. Further, our filters are tested under ISO Class 5 (Federal Standard SI Class M 3.5/USA Class 100) conditions to ensure leak-free filters.
New products are continually being developed, and Envirco's Research & Development Engineers and Quality Assurance staff test our products to ensure they meet the exacting standards of our customers. Envirco's Hagerstown, Maryland, USA, and UK locations stock standard MAC 10 units, and a selection of standard medical, laboratory and MAC 10 units are stocked in Albuquerque.
History
In the early 1960s, physicists at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico developed laminar flow technology utilizing HEPA filtration. Envirco was contracted by Sandia to manufacture the first laminar flow clean air equipment. The company went on to design and build the world's first commercial cleanroom.
Envirco capitalized on this knowledge and experience by developing products for hospital, medical and other airborne contamination control purposes. The company was the first to design, manufacture and install a laminar flow cleanroom for surgery, which was later developed into the modular Enviramedic Surgery Isolator clean air system.
Continuing as innovators in the clean air industry, Envirco went on to design and manufacture the first laminar flow exhaust hood for personnel safety, the first portable downflow cleanroom, the first laminar flow chemotherapy patient isolation facility, the first low profile Fan Filter Unit (FFU), and the MAC 10 IQ, the world's first smart FFU.
The Future
Today Envirco is a subsidiary of Fedders Corporation (NYSE: FJC), a leading global manufacturer of air treatment products. As part of Fedders Indoor Air Quality, Envirco will open its first Asian manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China in late 2002. Further, Envirco is continuing our commitment to new technology innovation with new MAC 10, Hospi-Gard and laminar flow clean bench modules currently in development.
